Magic Island & Ala Moana Beach Park

Join us on an evening walk around Magic Island and Ala Moana Beach Park. Be sure to bring your phone/camera as we will catch the sunset and you will want to take pictures. You will also have an amazing view of the iconic Diamond Head crater.

This is an optional, NOT REQUIRED session. This is a flat paved walk. Shorts and walking shoes are suggested.

Provides information and resources on how to prepare for Hurricanes that devastate coastal regions from a variety of hazards; storm surge, winds, flying debris and precipitation. Attendees will learn how to prepare their homes and families for hurricane and flood risks.
It’s no new discovery that people learn differently, which is why leaders need to understand how to communicate with each individual employee. In this course, you will assess your personal leadership style and learn to adapt your preferred style to each individual employee for multiple levels of communication, including motivation and feedback.
Every job has its challenges. Everyone must navigate office politics, learn to work with others, and master skills necessary to succeed in a particular position. Those are all challenges, but not the ones we’ll be looking at in this program. What sets supervisors apart from other positions is that you manage people. So, your toughest challenges will be employee-related issues. Supervising others can be rewarding and give you a sense of accomplishment when you see employees grow and succeed. But supervising others can also be a big headache when employees don’t show up on time, don’t do what they’re supposed to do, fight with each other, etc. In this course you will learn about taking the time to do the right thing in these situations for the long-term success of the organization, the employees, and you.
11:00 AM - 1:00 PM - Hawaiian Craft Making Class
Flower lei making. This session will provide you with all the supplies needed to make one (1) adult lei. Written instructions will also be provided, so you can take home your lei needle to continue your lei making journey back home. Come dressed comfortably. Feel free to bring a lite lunch or snack with you to eat while we are together. We want this experience to be relaxing and stress free for you. Our instructor will be there to help you each step of the way, so you have nothing to worry about.

Provide professionals in the insurance and risk management industry the information and tools needed to conduct limited on-line open-source investigations involving social media and the internet. How to use search techniques, social media sites and various other searches to develop information relevant to claims investigations.
A review of the most commonly written bonds in the western states, their underwriting and the type of claims that occur. Includes Fidelity, Judicial, Probate bonds and their uses. A review of the differences between surety, insurance & banking, including the differences in claims handling.

2:30 PM - 4:30 PM - CLP The Exceptional Manager
As a manager, overseeing employee performance is an essential obligation. This course provides managers at all levels the necessary know-how to help employees grow in their abilities and motivate them to go above and beyond expectations. You will learn how to develop a self-awareness of your managerial skills, demonstrate consistency in your values, attitude and behavior, exercise mental flexibility and display humility and confidence in both your decisions as a manager and the capabilities of your employees.
